Our Story

Blackwater Coffee & Café first opened its doors in 2005 in the charming town of Maple Plain, a close-knit community just west of Minneapolis. What began as a neighborhood coffee shop has grown into a place where friends, families, and coworkers gather over exceptional coffee, handcrafted beverages, and freshly prepared food.

For more than 20 years, we've proudly served our communities with freshly brewed coffee, premium teas, espresso drinks, and made-to-order breakfasts and lunches, including sandwiches, wraps, flatbreads, and fresh salads. Every drink and meal is prepared with the same commitment to quality, freshness, and genuine hospitality that has defined Blackwater from the beginning.

Our journey continued with the opening of our Minnetonka location, followed by our downtown Minneapolis café at Fifth Street Towers in 2024. Today, we're excited to welcome you to our fourth location in the beautiful city of Champlin.
