Assistant Manager  

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Assistant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our new Minnetonka MN Location (at WestRidge Market) and Downtown Minneapolis Location (in the Fifth Street Towers office building). The manager will be responsible for managing the staff, ensuring excellent customer service, and optimizing the overall performance and profitability of the coffee shop. Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of baristas, shift supervisors, and support staff. Set performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback.

  • Ensure exceptional customer service by maintaining a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, resolving customer concerns, and actively engaging with customers.

  • Oversee the preparation of high-quality coffee and espresso beverages, ensuring consistency and adherence to company standards.

  • Manage inventory levels, place supplier orders, and monitor usage to minimize waste. Control costs while maintaining product quality.

  • Ensure product quality, restaurant cleanliness, maintenance and security standards are met

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new customers, retain existing ones, and promote special offers and events.

  • Create work schedules for employees, balancing labor costs with operational needs.

  • Ensure the coffee shop is clean, organized, and well-maintained. Oversee maintenance and repairs as needed.

  • Ensure staff members adhere to health and safety regulations, company policies, and procedures.

  • Address any operational challenges, customer complaints, or issues that arise during daily operations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a coffee shop or similar hospitality/restaurant management role. Candidate with food manager certificate is preferred (manager

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Exceptional customer service and communication abilities.

  • Hands-on experience with brewing equipment, knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and beverage recipes, and experience of preparing food in a quick service restaurant is a plus

  • Ability to manage a fast-paced, high-volume, clean, customer-focused restaurant

  • Strong time-management skills; ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including AM/PM, weekends and holidays (no evenings and weeekends for downtown Minneapolis location).
